German wind and solar park operator Encavis AG (ETR:CAP) will build a 105-MW solar park in the northern state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to supply Dutch electric vehicle (EV) charging firm Allego NV (NYSE: ALLG).
The partners have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA), expanding an earlier 10-year contract that provides Allego with electricity from 25 MW of Encavis-owned solar plants in Brandenburg.

The extended deal is tied to a photovoltaic (PV) farm to be built in the municipality of Borrentin and set to become Encavis’ largest solar complex in its home country. Together with the plant in Groß Behnitz, Brandenburg, it will supply Allego’s charging network with more than 100 GWh of green power. The purchase of related certificates of origin is also part of the arrangement.
The output of the two solar parks will enable more than 1.75 million EV charging sessions, based on an assumed average battery size of 60 kWh per EV, the partners estimate.
“In order to successfully shape the energy transition, it is essential to work with companies that have serious commitments to renewable energy,” said Mario Schirru, chief operating officer at Encavis.
