Sweden’s Eolus Vind AB (STO:EOLU-B) has decided to carry out a strategic review of its offshore wind business and possibly find a strategic partner to boost development speed, the company announced on Wednesday.
The Nordic renewables developer said in a statement that through this process, it hopes to create the best conditions for the permitting and execution of its projects.
“We want to do everything we can to increase the success rate for our offshore projects. One part of that is securing that we in all areas have the resources needed and can keep a high speed in the development process,” commented CEO Per Witalisson.
As of end-March, Eolus’ offshore wind portfolio included nine projects with a combined capacity potential of 10,000 MW and a number of early-stage developments in Sweden, Finland and the Baltics.
Earlier this month, the company filed a permit application for its 1-GW Vastvind wind project off the coast of Gothenburg in Sweden. It said it plans to submit such applications for additional projects in the near future.
